Book Review: Just a few faves…

“Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are.”

Happy Thursday guys! Today I decided I would do a book review when I was reading one of many books I have loved so far. There is absolutely, positively no doubt that I love reading and today I am here to express that. I guess you can call me a bookworm and trust me, I normally borrow about 5 or 6 novels from the library at once and I think I borrowed about 8 once and got through them all in a month front to back! Anyways, here are my thoughts and opinions on my book faves…

Girl Online- Zoe Sugg

This is an amazing book. Period. This book was written by Zoella and is about a lovely girl called Penny who is insecure about herself and normally feels overshadowed by other people such as her ‘best friend’ Megan. She is a blogger- Girl Online- just like me and she actually was the first person to give me inspiration to write to the internet world. See how one book can encourage you to do so many things! She is a very good photographer – according to the book- and again, she inspired me to start photography. When Penny’s mum gets the chance to organise a wedding for a couple in New York, they are going to have to fly over for Christmas and before she knows it, Penny’s life has quickly changed before her eyes when she meets the handsome Noah. I am going to avoid any spoilers if you haven’t read the book but I encourage you to do so! I have read Girl Online:On Tour and am yet to read Girl Online:Going Solo and I am really looking forward to it.

*Girls Can Vlog* Hashtag Hermione: Wipeout! – Emma Moss

This is a book I borrowed from the library a couple of days ago and am almost through with and I am absolutely for it. It’s the first book in the Girls Can Vlog series that I have read and I am really enjoying it. Hermione is a 14-year-old Chinese girl who vlogs as part of the ‘Girls Can Vlog’ YouTube channel. She meets a really cute boy called Thierry during a year 9 ski trip when she has an accident and it’s love at first sight for her. Little does she know, many things in her life are going to change and she is going to have to make big decisions she might possibly regret in the future. Remember, no spoilers!!! I love this book because of how realistic it is and how much I can relate to it although some parts didn’t actually happen to me but I am not going to tell you what because, again, that would be a spoiler!

*Chocolate Box Girls* Cherry Crush – Cathy Cassidy

This is the first book in the series Chocolate Box Girls and I ended up reading this book last and the last book first! This book is about a girl called Cherry whose mother died when she was still quite young and when she was 14, her dad married Charlotte Tanburry. Ever since she became stepsisters with Charlotte’s 4 children, the oldest of them, Honey, who was just a year older then Cherry herself, Honey was out to destroy Cherry with her horrible attitude towards her. Honey seemed sweet on the outside, but there was a whole new person within her that grew after her father left them. Not going to spoil, promise! But you have to read the Chocolate Box Girls, they are the bomb!

*Chocolate Box Girls* Summer’s Dream – Cathy Cassidy

I have read all the sisters’ stories and their half brother’s story but out of them all, this is my favourite. This is about a girl, an extremely popular and pretty girl who’s identical twin sister isn’t as popular even though they are practically each other. But Summer is different. She has a dream. Ever since she was little, she had adored ballet and did it as a hobby. But now that she has turned 13, she has taken ballet more serious than ever before. In order to get into her dream ballet school, she has to make some slight changes to her lifestyle. But before she knows it, her life has gone completely downhill and it will be terribly hard to recover. This is my absolute favourite book of all time and I mean that. When I feel like giving up something, I remember how much Summer strove and I don’t even think twice about carrying on. Team #summer !!!

Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: Dog Days – Jeff Kinney

Last but most definitely not least, DOAWK (yes, I made that abbreviation up myself and yes, I realise how dumb that was). I actually watched the movie three years before reading the book and it turns out, they are nothing alike! This book is full of crazy adventures for Greg and his best friend Rowley but they manage to get through it and have a not-totally-terrible summer! This is a really good book and you should definitely read it, it’s ace!

******

Ok that’s all for now guys. Make sure to leave a like and comment down below what your favourite book from all these series are and which one you really want to read. I really want to read Alfie Anderson’s story from the Chocolate Box Girls (he isn’t a girl but hey!) to find out his half of the story and how he felt to finally be Summer’s boyfriend after so so many years of liking her. I won’t be writing this Sunday as I am going for a sleepover and will not be taking my laptop. Next week is our Easter Holidays and I’m super excited. Who else is off work/school then? Also if you have any question, leave a comment and I will reply to it as soon as possible.

Thank you for reading,

MyGirlBlogger xoxo
